Safety & Environmental Policies

Note : Complete Environmental Health and Safety Policy document will be made available upon request.

The main objective of the Environmental Health and Safety Management System (EHS) is to provide an umbrella to help align all safety initiatives and safety programs in API Pipeline Contruction Company Limited including sub-contractor safety. With this EHS Management System fully implemented and working in the context of Employee Involvement, a more effective use of resources through improved work methods will result in fewer actual and potential loss-producing incidents.

However, these benefits can only be realized through management commitment and active participation and personal development of all API Pipeline employees and sub-contractors working in our operations.

One of the many positive attributes of a well-managed enterprise is that in addition to producing a quality product or service, it will invariably generate a safe work environment. In a successful enterprise safety is not a function in itself outside the main stream of core activities, but a natural result of the overall effectiveness of the way in which it does its business. Safety must be equal to the other factors of production, e.g. quality, cost and morale.

Professionally engineered and constructed facilities operated and supervised by a trained, committed team with clear, well-communicated objectives, will result in a long-term profitability and a safe and stable work environment.

Like all other business objectives, safety benefits from a systematic approach. This approach, referred to as the Environmental Health and Safety Management System, ensures that the operation of our equipment and the delivery of services and products are safe. The EHS sets our safety policies and objectives, the system by which we shall measure the degree of compliance with these standards to promote continuous improvement in controlling and reducing the risks in our day-to-day activities.

The broadening of environment, health and safety management related skills among all of our employees and sub-contractor employees are critical to the success of our business. By active participation, we shall all learn these new skills, such as the ability to recognize and deal with potential hazardous situations before incidents occur, and how to plan and organize work activities.

We will learn that there is only one way to work, "Safely and effectively, all the time, without exception". The Environmental, Health and Safety Management System is primarily a safety policy document, but is also intended to be a guide to safe work practices and a safe work environment, either as resource of information itself, or as reference to other safety policies and/or procedures.
